ISABELLA BIANCHINI - ARTIST
Ti Voglio Bene is a love letter to kindness, connection, and the people who remind us of what it feels like to be seen and cherished. The phrase — meaning “I love you” in Italian — carries a softness that many of us heard as children but perhaps don’t say often enough as adults. This exhibition is a gentle invitation to remember those words, to speak to them freely, and to reflect on the small and beautiful ways people touch our lives.
Every painting in this body of work is inspired by a person who has left a positive mark on my life. In the past three months alone, seven of these paintings came to life — each one dedicated to someone who made me smile a little wider, laugh a little louder, or feel warmth in moments I needed it most. The colours and shapes are bold and expressive, like the joyful chaos of opening a bag of Skittles: vibrant, surprising, and full of life.
The ceramic vessels stand alongside these paintings like companions in conversation. Built by hand through coiling, each piece carries its own playful textures and hand-drawn details, layered with coloured slips that have been washed, wiped back, and built up again — much like the layers of memory and feeling that inspired them. Some cradle flowers within them, adding a living, breathing element that invites you to look closer and feel connected to the natural world.
Together, the paintings and ceramics share a common thread: a love for nature, for colour, for texture, and for the emotions and kindness that make life richer. Ti Voglio Bene is a space where these pieces come together, creating an environment that I hope feels inviting, joyful, and full of heart — a reminder to celebrate the people who lift us up, and to hold onto the childlike wonder that keeps us open to beauty.
